Kerry Armstrong. Amazing Abstract Compositions.

The giant red paint ‘splash’ of the Recomp logo is meant to reflect the creation of a composition; a work of art. Recomp is about the creation of body compositions. Kerry Armstrong is one of Australias best – and my absolute favourite – artist for creating the most incredible compositions on canvas.

OK, so this has absolutely nothing to do with body composition. And for once I’m not being sarcastic. Kerry really is brilliant!

The piece featured above is called ‘Walking Large With You‘. The photo pales in comparison to seeing it in the flesh with its rich textures and the stunning liquid copper that morphs before your eyes as you look over it. It was the first of Kerry’s paintings that I’d ever seen and it took my breath away. So strong. So unique. So much passion and energy. I knew nothing about abstract art and this stopped me in my tracks, drew me into it and wouldn’t let me go. I’ve since relived that experience many more times with Kerry’s work.

So how does this relate to anything I normally rant about? It relates because, while I abhor mediocrity and lies, I applaud talent and authenticity. Kerry Armstrong’s work is the essence of both. If you are in the market for a piece of art – or even if you aren’t – I implore you to check out Kerry’s work on Instagram, Facebook or kerryarmstrongart.com.au.
