Doctors view recreational bodybuilding as positively as they view a junkie wanting to get high or a psychopath wanting to commit murders. Bodybuilding is a disease to be prevented, by published health department standards. This is not an opinion. It is FACT!
Bodybuilding is more hated by health professionals than any other sport, because bodybuilding is not a recognised sport. The IOC and Australian Sports Commission don’t recognise bodybuilding as a sport; so it does not exist as a sport. That means even competitive bodybuilders are not training for a sport. And that makes bodybuilding training unnecessarily dangerous and bodybuilding diets an horrendous form of eating disorder. Bodybuilding is anti-health and fitness, by published clinical health and fitness standards.
Doctors would literally prefer a person to take up anorexia than bodybuilding. A primary published objective of the WHO and all western Health Departments is for the population to REDUCE BMI below 25. They would rather a 170cm person weighed 50kg or less, than weighed just 73kg or more! They could not care less whether you were lean, muscular or fat. They ONLY care that you are small.
In terms of exercise, health and fitness is achieved by doing absolutely ANY physical activity for at least 30 mins, 3x weekly. Playing tiddlywinks is literally exactly equal to squatting to failure, if you do both activities for the same amount of time. But squatting to failure is a huge risk of injury; so health and fitness professionals would rather you played tiddlywinks. LITERALLY! The fact that tiddlywinks will not make you look like a bodybuilder makes it all the better.
In terms of diet, the Health Department has published the Healthy Eating Guidelines. These guidelines are what diets are measured against, and are designed to help the average person shrink while playing tiddlywinks. An effective bodybuilding diet is virtually the exact opposite of the Healthy Eating Guidelines. Sports nutrition is not ‘healthy’. That is why it is called SPORT nutrition.
So, do you want ‘fitness’ and ‘health’, or to look and be the best you can be? Fitness and health means looking and being the WORST you can be, without being ill or injured. LITERALLY! This is not my opinion; this is published fact that everyone chooses to ignore.
If you are bodybuilding, stop talking garbage about health and fitness. You are not healthy nor fit, and your plan is to get LESS healthy and fit. Learn what the words mean so you can interpret the bad advice. FITNESS IS SHITNESS! If you don’t want to look like shit, stop saying you want to be fit!
